Naruto Namikaze (波風 ナルト, Namikaze Naruto) is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Uzumaki clan. Officially, despite not bearing the Uzumaki surname, Naruto identifies strongly with his mother's clan.
Background[]
Naruto was born on the night of October 10th, a few years before the Nine-Tails was extracted from his mother. Naruto Uzumaki's parents Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki survived the attack on the day of his birth. As a result, Naruto has grown up with both of his parents. He has a different upbringing and experiences than he did in the original series, which has shaped his character and the world.
When the village was attacked on the day of Naruto's birth, Minato Namikaze used a special sealing jutsu to transfer the nine-tailed beast Kurama from Kushina and onto Naruto. This allowed Naruto to keep his mother while gaining the power of Kurama, eventually becoming friends with the tailed beast. Growing up, with a father for a Hokage, a Sannin for a godfather, and a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto was held in very high esteem by everyone in the village, referring to him as the Honourable Son due to her prestigious family.
Personality[]
At this point, Naruto is more like his father Minato, who is characterized by having inherited his mother's personality traits. Naruto is calm, collected, speaking only when necessary, seen as more mature and very serious. He is also shown to have a sharp intelligence, being able to see the underlined nature of the situation he finds himself in.
Much like real-world Sasuke, Naruto is somewhat distant, showing little respect when speaking to others, even his parents. He also shows no interest in women, despite Sakura and Hinata fighting for his love, simply telling them to leave him alone. Despite his seriousness, Naruto is very loyal to his friends, as he claimed that Sakura problems were bothering him and that he wanted to help by observing Sakura for a while after seeing the villager's mistreatment.
Appearance[]
According to Jiraiya, Naruto strongly resembles his father: he has yellow-blond, spiky hair and blue eyes, while inheriting the shape of his mother's eyes and face. His trademark characteristics are the three whisker markings on his cheeks.
As a child, Naruto wore an orange and blue jacket with a white collar, a white swirl with a tassel on the left side, and a red Uzumaki crest on the back. He also wore orange pants with a shuriken holster on his right knee, blue sandals, and a blue forehead protector, given to him by Iruka after graduating from the Academy.
As a teenager, Naruto wears a more form fitting outfit after wearing out his original one while training with Jiraiya, with a T-shirt or mesh armour underneath. While retaining the swirls and orange pants, the blue pieces of his outfit changes to black: his forehead protector (which is now longer), sandals, and orange jacket, the black colour showing more prominence than the blue did originally.
Abilities[]
Much like the original series, Naruto is a very skilled shinobi, being able to fight on equal terms with Hanzō, the only one who managed to subdue all the Sannin. As a member of the Uzumaki clan, Naruto has an especially strong life force, granting him enormous reserves of chakra and vitality. Derived from these characteristics it also has an incredible healing factor and longevity. He is also noticeably strong and fast, being able to quickly intercept Tenten's attack and easily block her giant ax with a kunai, using a single arm.
Chakra and Physical Prowess[]
As an Uzumaki, Naruto was naturally born with immense reserves of chakra, specifically double that of what his father, Minato Namikaze, possesses naturally. Although he is not pure-blooded, Naruto's powerful life-force grants her an extreme longevity, healing power, stamina and vitality; what he lacks in raw talent, which he makes up for by simply having chakra levels high enough to attempt to learn more than others do.
Ninjutsu[]
Naruto is a ninjutsu master, and, like his teacher before him, is famed as the "Toad Sage" (蝦蟇仙人, Gama Sennin) due to his association with the toads of Mount Myōboku. Like his original counterpart, his sizable volume of chakra enables him to use both the Shadow Clone Technique and Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. Through the use of the latter technique, he was able to rapidly increase his experiene and decrease training time, allowing him to learn new techniques much quicker than an average shinobi. Like Jiraiya, his ninjutsu style revolves around a toad theme: both summoning toads or parts of toads, or using toad oil in conjunction with his various nature transformations to achieve blistering effects. Additionally, Naruto has learned to infuse his chakra into an opponent's shadow allowing him to infiltrate top secret locations by controlling them.
Rasengan[]
Studying directly under her parents and Jiraiya, Naruto's signature offensive technique is the Rasengan. As it was a technique originally created to protect Naruto's father, Minato taught Naruto how to use the Rasengan when he was young. He uses the technique prolifically, alongside his family, which has led to the technique being attributed heavily to the Namikaze family within Konohagakure. While initially only able to form an average sized Rasengan in his youth - needing to create a bigger variant by deliberately pouring more chakra into it - as Naruto has grown older, the size of the Rasengan changed as well, matching the size of his former Big Ball Rasengan as its base size, and his Big Ball Rasengan taking a truly large proportion. Using senjutsu, Naruto is able to create even larger and more powerful variations of his Rasengan, coupled with senjutsu chakra for massive damage.
Senjutsu[]
Before becoming Hokage, Naruto trained in senjutsu at Mount Myōboku at the behest of his godfather and master, Jiraiya. He proved better at handling natural energy than Jiraiya and was able to perfectly balance it with the physical and spiritual energies of his chakra. Upon doing so, he gains an orange pigmentation around his eyes, which turn golden and gain barlike toad irisses. This Sage Mode tremendously enhances Naruto's physical strength and speed, and the senjutsu chakra that accompanies it also greatly bolsters his ninjutsu. Additionally, Sage Mode turns him into a sensor-type, allowing him to sense the chakra of people he is familiar with within his immediate vicinity.
Nature Transformations[]
Being the child of two individuals who can perform Wind Release, Naruto's natural affinity is for that form of nature transformation. Due to training under Jiraiya, however, he also displays immense skill in Fire Release. With his wind chakra, Naruto can infuse the Rasengan with elemental power, turning it into the Wind Release: Rasengan. He can also dramatically increase the amount of wind chakra infusion to create the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken: a version of the Rasengan that can be thrown to devastating effect. Like his ordinary Rasengan, Naruto can control the size of the Rasenshuriken, making larger or smaller versions as needed.
In addition to what he can do with his wind chakra, Jiraiya passed onto Naruto his skill with Fire Release. Naruto is thus able to breath large bombs of fire, combine that fire with toad oil to create a blaze, or even combine fire and wind with oil to create an even larger inferno. With Earth Release, he can reshape the landscape into a swamp or create thick defensive walls.
Fūinjutsu[]
As an Uzumaki, Naruto is proficient in Fūinjutsu, having studied the art under his mother, Kushina. Due to her unique training, Naruto is capable of performing Fūinjutsu used only by the Uzumaki clan, his maternal clan.
Jinchūriki Transformations[]
Naruto possesses Kurama sealed within him, granting him even greater reserves of equally strong chakra. Having long ago made conscious contact with the Demon Fox and developed at least a strong relationship, Menma is able to access Kurama's chakra and powers whenever necessary. In battle, he can cloak himself in his unique Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, greatly enhancing all of his physical parameters and also allowing him to sense people's negative emotions. Going even further, Menma is able to manifest a life-sized chakra avatar of Kurama to fight larger enemies.
